Beginners Workshop

Please note: this course takes place every Saturday, 1-4pm, from 16 July to 3 September (eight weeks). You are warmly encouraged to perform in a graduation show, 7pm Wednesday 7 September.

This beginners' course is designed to introduce you to the basics of improvised theatre in a fun and friendly environment. Over the course of the eight weeks, participants will be gradually introduced to performing Theatresports games and scenes, and will learn to hit the stage with confidence and playfulness. The classes are suitable for anyone keen on performing impro, as well as those interested in improving their public speaking and creativity or expanding their theatre toolbox.

All participants will be invited to demonstrate their skills at a graduation show at the end of the workshop series.

Our beginners course aims to teach you:

  • the confidence to take risks and accept failure graciously

  • to build on others' ideas and work together

  • basic performance skills

  • to develop characters and the world around them

  • to create short improvised scenes
