What I love about improv (by current student Craig)

Interested in learning how to improvise?

Improv QLD has been teaching people improv for over 10 years. We thought we would ask some of the students from our recent beginner’s class to tell us about their experience - why they did it, what they learned and what was their favourite moment.

The first student we wanted to introduce is - Craig!

Tell us a bit about yourself? Who are you? What do you like to do (apart from improv?)

I’m Craig; a creative person who works in the field of Creative Development. I enjoy photography, writing, playing my sax and hiking and playing in nature…among other things!

2. Why did you decide to take a learn improv class?

To to connect with other playful people and to learn more about creative expression through improv performance.

3. What was your favourite moment from the classes?

I thoroughly enjoyed all of it but one hilarious moment was when a couple of my fellow students, while performing an exercise for the rest of us, had a melding moment that took a most unexpected turn…very funny!

4. What is the one lesson from improv you will use in the rest of your life?

Pay attention and commit.

5. What did you find the most challenging part of the class?

Letting go of control and being with the unknown.
