Improvisation in Schools

Are you teaching Theatresports or improv? Or do you have a team competing in the schools Theatresports competition?

Improv Queensland team of experienced teachers can run workshops for your students introducing them to the basic concepts of improvisation.

Theatresports™ workshops

Our theatresports coaching classes are aimed at providing students with a low stress introduction to the basic skills of improvisation. Through this program, students will learn how to actively listen to others, accept ideas, and fail with confidence. Our instructors will also teach students how to play improvisation games, as well as the underlying purpose of these activities. We can run one-work workshops for your students as well as extended programs.

Scenic improvisation

We also offer a long-form improvisation workshops for older students (we recommend Grades 10 - 12), which focuses on the skills needed to create scenic improvisation. These skills include physicality, spacework, character building and storytelling, as well as the art of connection. Through this workshop, students can develop the skills they need to create improvisation that has depth and meaning.

Our team

Our experienced team of instructors have helped countless students develop their improvisation skills and gain a deeper understanding of the dramatic arts. We are proud to have worked with schools such as Brisbane Girls Grammar, Sheldon College, YMCA Vocational School Cleveland, Craigslea State High and many others.
