Intermediate class: Theatresports & Improv Games

  • The Exchange 81 Musk Avenue Kelvin Grove, QLD, 4059 Australia (map)

Start your weekend with play!

This class will take an in-depth look at popular improv games from Theatresports and the TV show “Whose Line is it, Anyway?”

Not only will we practice games, we will also use them to hone and develop your improv skills. We will look at how to move beyond simply playing games for a gimmick or laugh, and using the structures to create real impro magic on the stage.

This class will also teach you everything you need to know about the classic improv format, Theatresports, introducing you to the different elements of the show such as judges, the horn of salvation and challenges. The class will also discuss the philosophy and history which underpin these elements and give you insight into their purpose and how to make use of them in a show.

This workshop will help students who are looking to refine their performance skills and hit the stage with increased confidence and power.

It is also perfect for people wanting to get back into improv, or those who want to learn more about Improv Queensland’s approach to improvisation. We also recommend this class for teachers or Theatresports coaches looking to gain additional skills and insights for their students.
